Officials' spare time fun: corruption or merely relaxation?

The People's Daily recently published the responses of 105 grass-roots officials from Jiangsu, Henan, Sichuan and Shandong provinces to a questionnaire concerning their spare time lives. One question was, “Why do you visit business-oriented entertainment venues in your spare time?” Thirty-one percent said, “It was needed for the purpose of fulfilling work requirements.” The answer has sparked nationwide controversy.
