Nowhere to park in new auto age

The Wuhan municipal government in Hubei Province recently decided to motivate grass-roots investment in establishing parking lots.

According to its plan, 20,000 new off-street parking lots will be established within three years, and another 180,000 by 2020.

In a bid to settle the parking space problem, the local government has made some decisions such as encouraging multi-layer, underground and ecological parking lots, introducing private investment, building supermarkets in big parking lots. Compensation and parking charges will also be adjusted following the principle of "in-street higher than off-street, and daytime higher than nighttime."These measures will undoubtedly alleviate the present difficulties.

In the future, the government should learn from the developed countries to conduct more initiative and forward-thinking planning.
