“We’ve never been hotter,” says a female business executive in her column in a British newspaper, referring to the popular belief that women executives are to save the world from a financial crisis largely caused by men.

While the relations between assets and estrogen in the boardroom is still hard to figure out, other myths about women pop up as well, for example: are women going to save the world from climate change and environmental degradation?

A recently completed national poll in the US, surveying 801 women, seems to suggest a positive answer to the question above.

It found out that American women want the country to move toward clean energy sources, and 57 percent even said they’d even be willing to pay as much as $30 more per month to get it. And possibly, they can.

Ninety-one percent of women take on the dominant role in the household of conserving energy and making plans to cut out wasteful practices. Ninety-seven percent of women lower thermostats, turn off lights and appliances when not in use and purchase energy efficient light bulbs to conserve energy.

These results raised some eyebrows. So it is true that women are more passionate about protecting the environment, but most men, on the other hand, flit between political and economic development and environmental protection.
