Confusing messages poison public over food safety

"Nongfu Spring is a little bit annoying,"is a recent online catchphrase, a variant of the bottled water's slogan saying that "Nongfu Spring is a little bit sweet."
It was exposed by Haikou Industrial and Commercial Administration Bureau (HICAB) that Nongfu Spring Co and UniPresident Co, two of China's leading providers of bottled water and beverages, were producing bottled water containing highlevel arsenic.
Although the testing center of the National Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center has claimed that the two companies' products have passed its retest, ordinary people are not relieved by this.
Food safety concerns the health and safety of everyone. Unfortunately, various exposures of food safety problems have disappointed the public, although supervising departments have been making e§ orts to do their duty.
Take this "excessive arsenic"incident. After being exposed, Nongfu Spring Co explained that HICAB only tested a certain batch of products manufactured in Guangzhou.
However, the same batch was tested and passed by local Guangzhou authorities. Two authoritative testing departments gave two completely different quality testing reports.
