A multipolar world does not need a 'ruler'

It is China's long-held policy to pursue peace and development and never to seek hegemony. As Chinese President Hu Jintao stated in his recent speech at the APEC conference in Singapore, China seeks the advancement of a just and reasonable world order.
China is also making contributions to the world that match its domestic economic and social conditions.
As the famous Chinese writer Lin Yutang said, "Every nation has its dream, and the history of mankind is sometimes evolving under the power of dreams."
The dream of the Chinese nation has always been about building a prosperous nation for its people.
Great efforts are being made to establish a domestic demand-driven economy and to deliver social justice. The healthcare system needs to be overhauled, and the needs of China's vulnerable groups need better care.
In a transitional world shifting from unipolar to multipolar, time is needed for people to get used to living without a lone powerful leader.
It will take even longer for Chinese to make their dream come true.
But without a doubt, that dream does not include being the "ruler" of a multipolar world.
